Avena Consultants was set up by Chantel McGrath (BA, BSc), a fully qualified Medical Herbalist with six years of consultancy experience in market research and analysis. She has built a strong reputation for delivering concise market intelligence and analysis-for clients keen to understand market entry opportunities and barriers in the UK and overseas, with a strength in finding information that is not readily available; simplifying complex legal, licensing and financial processes.
Her most recent work includes drafting the National Institute of Medical Herbalist’s (NIMH) consultation response to the Joint-UK wide consultation on the Statutory Regulation of Practitioners of Herbal Medicine and providing regulatory advice on herbal medicine to the various lobbying organisations by providing an up to date analysis of the Statutory regulation of herbalists in the UK and research on evidence based herbal medicine.
Integrative Healthcare incorporates all forms of healthcare practice to bring the benefits of advancements in medical science into a wider holistic approach to patients based on principles such as: Individual control, support, dietary, lifestyle advice and recognition of mind state in relation to health. Integrative medicine can be described as different disciplines of practitioners working together in a clinic or allopathic practitioners training in CAM therapies and vice versa. In research terms it can be defined as collaborative disciplines or research methodologies working in tandem to establish best practice. As a result a wider understanding of disease state based on: patient experience, clinical practice, effective treatment and diverse evaluations of efficacy can be found. Integrative medicine is a recognition that medicines and medical treatment are evolving and improving through interdisciplinary collaboration.
